Read full description of the books Un verano diabólico:I really liked this entry. The characters reacted realistically to what was going on. You know how in horror movies you're always yelling at the characters to do the smart thing? Well, in this book, they do. I actually liked the characters this time around as well. The plot, though, was a little schizophrenic. (view spoiler)[It starts out as your basic revenge plot which wasn't bad. You can't go wrong with a classic. But then Stine gave Chrissy "powers". It still would have been fine if he had stuck with one type of power. Chrissy says her powers come from using all of her brain instead of just the 10% that we use. Ok, I can deal with that, especially since she was in a coma. However, some of the things she can do (super strength, giving hallucinations, making blood spurt from a knife, etc.) don't mesh with what we would normally think of as "brain powers". If she had been a witch, for example, this would have fit together better. It also would have explained the weird animal activity around her. (hide spoiler)]
